DOHA: RasGas will be honoured with the presence of the Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani when the company officially inaugurates its sixth liquefaction train, Train 6, and celebrates its 10-year LNG sales anniversary.

Over a thousand VIPs from around the globe are expected to attend the spectacular event, including local and overseas ministers, industry leaders and CEOs from the world’s leading energy companies. The celebration will be one of the of the highest profile industry events of the year for both RasGas and Qatar, and marks a defining moment in Qatar’s development as a gas producing and exporting nation.

RasGas’ Train 6 is one of the world’s largest LNG trains and belongs to a new generation of ‘mega-trains’, capable of producing 7.8 million tonnes of LNG per annum (Mta). The inauguration will mark a defining moment in Qatar’s development as a gas producing and exporting nation, as well as boosting the company’s overall LNG production to approximately 28.5 Mta.
