DOHA: The law enforcement agencies have arrested four persons, all of them Arab nationals, on charges of stealing large quantities of expensive electric cables from the company where they worked.

The arrests were made following a tip-off from one of their colleagues. The suspects stole the cables from the warehouse of the company in Ras Laffan.

The foursome confessed to having committed the crime during interrogation and led to the place where they hid the stolen cables whose value is estimated to be a whopping $400,000.

The suspects have been charge-sheeted by the prosecution and the case has been referred to the court. This is one of the biggest thefts of electric cables.
