DOHA: Twenty three students of the Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar excelled in the classroom during the 2005 fall term earning the academic distinction of being placed on the Dean's List.
"The students here are performing just like their peers on the main campus in Pittsburgh and we're delighted to recognise their achievements," said CMUQ dean Charles Thorpe.
Receiving Dean's List honours in the computer science program are: Ameer Abdul-Salam, Noora Al-Saad, Lina Agha, Mohammed Al Ibrahim, Hatem Alismail, Fahad Al-Mahmoud, Mariam Al-sayed, Qebbas Al-warad, Hend Gedawy and Omar Shams.
Receiving Dean's List honours in the business administration program are: Hala Abbas, Yasmine Abdel-Rahman, Noor Al-Athirah, Imran Karim, Mohamad Abou Zeinab, Fahad Al-Jefairi, Amun Bashir, Fatema Farghaly, Mustafa Hasnaiin, Ibrahim Hassan, Samiha Kamel, Mona Maher and Jinanne Tabra.
Students in Doha follow the same curriculum and are taught to the same high standards with the same performance requirements as the university's Pittsburgh campus. In Qatar, the Dean's List distinction is earned by the top-ranking students in business administration (BA) and computer science (CS) each semester. The qualifications for the Dean's List are identical on each campus, said a press release.
