H H Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned chairing the Qatar Foundation Board of directors’ meeting at the Education City yesterday.

Doha • Qatar Foundation Board of directors’ meeting took place yesterday at the organisation’s headquarters at Education City.

On the agenda were reports on the progress of bringing world-class higher education to the Gulf region submitted by three branch campuses of Education City – Dr Christina Lindholm, the Dean of Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar, Dr Daniel R Alonso, Dean of Weill-Cornell Medical College in Qatar, and Dr Mark H Weichold, Dean and CEO of Texas A & M University at Qatar.

The Board considered the paths the organisation is taking towards its ultimate goal of creating a knowledge-based society in Qatar. The board also held a brainstorming session on strategic options to accelerate this process.

The Board is Qatar Foundation’s highest decision-making body with leading figures from the fields of education, industry and healthcare in Qatar and abroad.
