Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani has sent a cable of greetings to President of the United Arab Emirates H H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the occasion of his re-election as the UAE President. The Heir Apparent H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has sent a similar cable to the UAE President greeting him on the occasion. The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani has sent a cable of greetings to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the occasion of his re-election.

Emir, PM greets Afghan President

Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani has sent a cable of greetings to President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai on his re-election. The Heir Apparent

H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has also sent a cable of greetings to Karzai. The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani has sent a cable of greetings to President of Afghanistan.

Condolences cable sent to Saudi

Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani has sent a cable of condolences to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia on the death of Princess Haya bint Abdulaziz bin Abdurrahman Al Saud. The Heir Apparent H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has sent a similar cable to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani has sent a cable of condolences to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

Minister meets Damascus governor

Doha: Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage H E Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari met here yesterday Governor of Damascus Dr Basheer Al Sabban and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, they reviewed areas of cooperation between the two countries and ways of enhancing them. The meeting was attended by Secretary-General of Culture, Arts and Heritage Mubarak bin Nasser Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Central Municipal Council Nasser bin Abdullah Al Kaabi as well as the Syrian delegation accompanying the Governor and a number of officials.

Minister arrives

in Vienna

Vienna: Qatar’s Minister of State for International Cooperation who is also Acting Minister of Business and Trade H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah, arrived in Vienna yesterday for an official visit. During the visit, Dr Khalid Al Attiyah will hold talks with a number of senior officials in the Austrian Government dealing with aspects of trade cooperation and investment opportunities available in Austria.

QPSU to take part

in Dubai meet

Doha: Qatari Police Sport Union, (QPSU), is due to participate in the the Second International Conference, “Sport Vs Crime”, hosted by Dubai Police from November 9 to 12. The Qatari delegation will be headed by Chairman of (QPSU), Brigadier, Khalid bin Hamad Al Attiyah. The conference aims at strengthening the preventive role of police in the face of crime by activating the sports’’ role as a humanitarian and social activity in this field and tackling crime by establishing new horizons through several channels, including physical activities represented by sports.
