Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani received yesterday a phone call from the Libyan Leader Muammar Gaddafi.
The conversation dealt with bilateral relations and of issues of mutual concern.
Deputy Premier meets Mitsui chief
Doha: The Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry H E Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah met here yesterday separately with President of Japan’s Mitsui Company Masami Iijima and Chairman of Japanese shipping company Kustyuki Sukimitu.
Talks during the two meetings dealt with issues of mutual concern and means of boosting joint cooperation. The meetings were attended by Qatar’s Ambassador to Japan Yusuf Mohammed Bilal and members of the delegation.
Qatari motorbike patrol at holy sites
DOHA: Qatar’s Haj mission currently camping in Saudi Arabia has introduced motorbikes to patrol the holy sites and oversee the welfare of the pilgrims from Qatar.
The bikes have also been used by the medical team accompanying the Qatari delegation, to identify emergency cases in view of the H1N1. The Mission has set up a clinic for pilgrims from Qatar with a separate section for women. The clinic, supported with doctors and paramedics as well as modern facilities, also has an isolation room for suspected H1N1 cases. The mission has made all arrangements to deal with possible H1N1 cases among pilgrims from Qatar.
