DOHA: Baraem TV, the Pan-Arabic pre-school channel won a Certificate of Merit in the educational children audience category for its animation series Nan and Lili at the International Communication Video and Interactive Media Competition (INTERCOM) 2009.
Baraem is funded by Qatar Foundation, and managed by Al Jazeera Children’s Channel (JCC). Winning animation series Nan and Lili is a part of the education oriented content in Baraem pre-school channel lineup targeting children between the age of three and six.
With its exceptional format, the series guides the little ones through a basic learning experience.
“This is an important recognition of the channel’s extraordinary efforts to create world-class educational children’s programming. I am sure it is just the first of many awards to come. Arabic-speaking children deserve the very best in entertainment and educational media,” said Firdaus Kharas, Executive Producer of Nan and Lili and a well known educational animation content producer.
“We are pleased to win the Certificate of Merit for educational children audience during Baraem’s first year of broadcast. This is an international endorsement for this original work and for the team. Nan and Lili, a 2D/3D animation series, revolves around two main lovely, funny child-like characters “Nan” and “Lili” who like to play and have a good time with their friends. Each episode introduces the young audience to a new educational topic that teaches them new things every day.
The programme nourishes imagination, creative skills and sense of determination, accomplishment, good manners, sharing, self-esteem, respect and perseverance.
