Qatar Airways gives away kids draw prizes

DOHA: Qatar Airways and Dreamworks Animation have given away a host of prizes in a draw promoting the blockbuster movie ‘Monsters vs Aliens’, which premiered onboard Qatar Airways in July.

Children were asked to answer a simple question about the movie’s central character to enter the draw to win a specially selected gift box containing the entire set of Dreamworks Animation’s movies on DVD. Runners-up prizes included cuddly toys of Monsters Vs Aliens characters, a computer game and an activity book signed by the movie’s director. The airline’s young passengers were encouraged to watch the movie on Qatar Airways’ state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment system while travelling for the chance to win the fantastic prizes.

On board, the movie drew a multinational audience from across Europe, Middle East, Africa, South Asia, Far East and North America take part. Winners came from countries such as Algeria, Indonesia, Nigeria and India, and also from places the airline does not serve, such as Canada and Denmark. The successful promotion helped to raise awareness of the extensive entertainment options available for children on board Qatar Airways.

Qatar Airways’ new Boeing 777s feature a revamped in-flight entertainment system, Oryx Entertainment, offering each passenger more than 900 audio and video entertainment options, clearly making it a ‘Multiplex in the Sky’.

Regardless of class of travel, passengers can enjoy the next generation interactive in-flight entertainment and can rest assured to be offered a great choice of music, documentaries, movies, sport, comedy, children’s programmes and interactive games. The in-flight entertainment system is accessed through an easy-to-use touch-screen and intuitive navigation system in 8 different languages. Over 150 movie features and 150 hours of programming in English, Arabic and several other languages are also available for the airline’s multilingual audience.
