DOHA • The "February 22 Intersection and Emir Street" project looks set to be complete by the middle of next year, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has said.
The project is part of the Doha Expressway and is being implemented by the German company Bilfinger Berger AG Civil and Emirate company Al Hamed Development and Construction.
The management of the project said it had completed 52 percent of its infrastructure and overcame obstacles that caused its delay. In 2006, The Peninsula reported that workers of Bilfinger Berger and Al Hamed found a cave at the excavation site at a depth of about 30 feet.
The "February 22 Intersection and Emir street" project includes development of the main highway from the Immigration intersection to the Midmac intersection, with service roads, infrastructure and landscaping works.
