Preparations for first Expat Arab Scientists’ meet in full swing

DOHA: The Preparatory Committee of the Founding Conference for Expatriate Arab Scientists, headed by H H Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned, is busy preparing for the forthcoming conference stated to open next Monday at Doha Sheraton Hotel.

The conference will highlight several issues, the most important of which is the research infrastructure and research opportunities in Qatar. The Conference will also research the partnership mechanisms and the collaboration channels among Expatriate Arab Scientists.

The event will have its focus on medical and environmental sciences and information technology and the interest in building a communication network through creating a scientists’ database.

The conference media centre will open on Sunday in Al Basir Hall at the Sheraton Hotel.

The exhibition organised on the sideline of the conference will also be opened on Sunday, April 23.

The exhibitors includes Qatar Scientific Club, The Supreme Council for the Environment and Natural Reserves, The National Health Authority, Qatar Supreme Council for Communication and Information Technology, Qatar University, Centre for Scientific and Applied Research, College of the North Atlantic, Kahrama, Qatar Tourism Authority, Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. Some of the institutions within Qatar Foundation are also participating: Carnegie-Mellon University, Qatar Diabetes Society, Qatar Academy, The Academic Bridge Programme, Qatar Leadership Academy, the Science and Technology Park, Texas A&M University-Qatar, Virginia Commonwealth University, Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, George Town University.
