Ministry signs MoU with QFSW

Amal bint Abdullatif Al Mannai, CEO of Qatar Foundation for Social Work (QFSW), has said that the National Development Strategy 2017-2022 will be launched soon featuring more than 40 projects that aim at social protection.
“The strategy relies on the policies regulated by the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs and the civil society represented by QFSW,” she said while talking to The Peninsula.
Earlier, QFSW and the Ministry of Administrative Development Labour and Social Affairs yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on strengthening cooperation in terms of family welfare and social development. The MoU was signed by Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, H E Dr. Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi, and Chairperson of QFSW, Munira bint Nasser Al Misnad. The memorandum aims at implementing plans and joint programmes in order to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030. The MoU focuses on care and social development of families, children, elderly and disable people affairs.
The Minister said during the event: “The partnership between the government body and civil society entities will help people of the nation to achieve sustainable development. This partnership will strengthen QFSW to execute their work plan which will benefit the community.”
The Minister emphasized on the importance of these sectors to perform their tasks and cooperate together to achieve the goals set for well-being and prosperity of the state.
Al Misnad praised the cooperation between the Ministry and the foundation by signing the memorandum. “The true importance of this partnership between civil society groups and government organisation is to enhance the collaboration to achieve the mutual goal of sustainability development,” she said.
Amal bint Abdullatif Al Mannai said: “Memorandum was designed after working for three months and the strategic partnership with the Ministry serves the same sector in terms of legislation and policy-making. All centres working under the umbrella of QFSW will work on the implementation on national projects which aim at achieving Qatar National Vision 2030.”
