DOHA: Al Kharaitiyat yesterday snatched a point in their Qatar Stars League (QSL) clash against Al Khor when striker Yahia Kebe fired in late goal in a 1-1 draw.
Battling relegation fears, 12th-placed Al Kharaitiyat owed it to Kebe’s 88th minute at Al Khor Stadium where the hosts had taken the lead through South Korean Heedo Park in the 29th minute.
Kebe produced a low header from inside the Al Khor box for his team’s only goal in the had-fought clash.
Earlier, Park fired a bullet from the edge of the Al Kharaitiyat box for his team’s only goal in the first half.
Coached by Amar Osim, Al Kharaitiyat are still not out of the woods with just two more rounds to go in the QSL season. Al Kharaitiyat have 23 points from 24 matches. Al Kharaitiyat have now shared points in 6 drawn matches this season.
Eleventh-placed Al Khor have a tally of 29 points from 24 matches. Al Khor, coached by Frenchman Jean Fernandez, have drawn 5 matches.
QSL title race has already been decided with Al Rayyan claiming the win early last month.
Al Rayyan (61 points), Al Sadd (45), El jaish (44) and Lekhwiya (41) are the top four sides in QSL this season.
Only Qatar SC (23 points) and Mesaimeer (23) are below Al Khor and Al Khraitiyat.
