German club cause a buzz with homemade honey

Berlin: German second division club St Pauli is creating a buzz in the Bundesliga with plans for their own homemade honey generated by two hives at their Millerntor Stadium.

The Hamburg-based outfit has even set up a webcam at their ground in the St Pauli district to keep an eye on their blooming bee colony.

The honey made will be named Ewaldbienenhonig in honour of club coach Ewald Lienen.

"We're happy to play a part in the ecological diversity of the district and we'd be happy if fans and residents (around the ground) let their window boxes bloom in a bee-friendly way," said the club in a statement.
