SYDNEY: Police on Wednesday said they had seized a record 903 kilograms (1,991 lb) of methamphetamines worth A$898 million ($680 million) in Australia's second most populous city of Melbourne this year.
Two men were arrested over the drugs, concealed in the floor boards of a factory, law enforcement officials told a news conference, without disclosing the date of the anti-drug operation.
"It's very difficult, when you consider the amount of cargo that comes across, to get every individual concealment, but with this particular concealment, we had significant intelligence that led us to that warehouse," said Neil Gaughan, assistant commissioner of the Australian Federal Police.
