DoHa: Aspetar received an award of excellence from the 34th FIMS World Sports Medicine Congress which concluded this week in Slovenia.
The organising committee  praised Aspetar for its efforts and valuable contributions to the field of sports medicine and exercise science.
The World Sports Medicine Congress was successfully held in Slovenia from 29 September to the 2nd October 2dAnd 
Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Mohamed Ghaith Al Kuwari, said: “Aspetar is delighted to be the official partner of this year’s Congress, and is proud to present 14 research papers and workshops on sports medicine and support initiatives, such as the Young Investigator Awards. This will encourage scientists to exhibit outstanding presentations of their work to benefit from their cutting-edge research and valuable contributions to sports medicine around the world.”
In partnership with Aspetar, the spetar, represented by the Acting Director General, Dr. Mohamed Ghaith Al Kuwari, and an accompanying delegation of medical experts, took part in panel discussions and delivered workshops to attendees.
The World Sports Congress covered several important topics such as hamstring and groin injuries, cartilage surgery, sports cardiology, performance in heat, return to play, and exercise medicine.
The world gathering takes place every two years and brings together a group of internationally renowned experts in sports medicine to share knowledge and expertise.
This year’s FIMS Congress has also served as a platform for initiatives such as the Aspetar Young Investigator Award presentations which provide scientists with the opportunity to showcase their outstanding work and valuable contributions to sports medicine.
