Health inspectors of Al Wakrah Municipality officials destroyed some 1,350kg of food stuffs found unfit for consumption during 245 inspection raids on food outlets last month.
The inspection raids have come as part of the ongoing campaign on food outlets to enforce the health law. The campaign led to detection of 12 violations  of law No 8/1990.
The municipality said yesterday that reconciliations on ten violations were made.  The municipality said two cases were referred to the police for further investigation and taking legal actions, while 60 pledges were signed by the violators to rectify their status and prevent from repeating the violations. During the campaign licenses of ten shops were checked.
