Qatar Academy Doha students study local and global issues

Under Qatar Foundation’s Pre-University Education, Grade 5 students at Qatar Academy Doha (QAD) spent eight weeks for researches and engaged in inquiry to assess authentic local and global issues. It helped to discover their passion and identify significant issues related to their passion.
The student inquiries led to meaningful actions to make a significant change in the world. Grade 5 students proudly presented their projects . The Primary Years Programme (PYP) exhibition represents a significant event in the life of every PYP school and student.
The Exhibition is an opportunity for students reaching the end of the PYP curriculum to synthesise the essential elements of the PYP and share them with the whole school community.
PYP Coordinator at Qatar Academy, Dalal Ali Ahmad, said, “As a coordinator of the programme, I was responsible for helping and supporting students, teachers and parents in this project.”
Reem Al Mansoori, Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Society Development at The Ministry of Transport and Communications, visited the venue and, said “I was impressed by the technology projects that the grade 5 students exhibited; they showed how QAD students are “digital natives” that are born into a technology based world.”
Paul Near, Primary School Principal commented “The students, their teachers and mentors have been really looking forward to showing off the results of their research and learning to wider community.” Tagreed Al Mansoori, Assistant Principal, said : “We are proud of our students”.
