Doha: Al Shahaniya Head of Football Mohamed Al Shammari revealed that they have appointed the current reserve team head coach Ze Nando to assume temporary management of the football team, following the resignation of their head coach, Fathi Al Jabal.
Al Jabbal resigned with the club after just two Qatar Stars League games in charge.
Revealing details of the resignation, Al Shammari said; “Following discussions held within Club Management, we have decided to accepted Al Jabbal’s resignation, Jabbal was present at Tuesday’s training session to say farewell to the players.”
Al Shammari also noted the aim of management during this period; “We will aim to find a suitable manager quickly. We do not want this situation to effect the team and it’s good moral at the moment.”
Talk turned to the clubs campaign in the QSL so far “The team lost their first match to the QSL title holders Al Rayyan, which is understandable. Whilst the second game, the win over Muaither meant a lot for us, and winning could be considered a six pointer especially at the end of the season.”
Al Shammari also placed faith in his side after their encouraging start. “Everyone knows that we are one of the favourites to be relegated. But the team is working very hard, and I believe we can beat relegation this term.”
Al Shahania will now continue their preparations for the coming QSL matches, with the Oryxes will be taking on Umm Salal on October 14 at Qatar SC stadium.
