MES students visit ICGS Samarth at Hamad Port

The Peninsula

About 20 students of MES Indian School visited the Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS), Samarth, which arrived at Hamad Port on a friendship mission recently.

ICGS is the first in the series of 105 metre-long indigenously built offshore patrol vessel.

The ship has undertaken various significant search and rescue operations and engaged in active coastal security exercises.

The ship is on its goodwill mission to Qatar with an objective to boost maritime relations between Qatar and India.

Students from different age groups - both Boys and Girls - sections of the school were selected to visit the ship.

The inquisitive students had ample opportunity to interact with the officials and got to know about the general functioning of the ship, which made their visit very informative and a memorable one.

Shiney Suresh and  Jency George were the teachers in charge to accompany the students.
