Beating Lekhwiya will be a ‘warning message’ to all QSL clubs: Hamroun

Doha: Al Sadd’s summer signing Jugurtha Hamroun (pictured) is confident his side can get a result against Lekhwiya in the QSL match of the week for round three. The Algerian winger chatted with QSL online in an exclusive video to get his thoughts on the upcoming match and life at his new club.
Hamroun has made a confident start in the QSL which is in part down to compatriot Bagdad Bounjah. As former team- mates in the Algerian youth set up Bounjah has aided Hamroun’s smooth transition into the Sadd first team.
“Of course it is always good to be with someone from your country when you join a new club, Bagdad has been here one year now and now he knows the club and everyone likes him. He has helped me settle, and this has been a big boost for me” claimed the twenty-seven year old winger.
Hamroun also stressed that his early season partnership with Bagdad Bounjah was just the start of things to come when explain his personal aims with the side.
“My personal objective is to score more goals for the side. As a winger I am expected to score and assist Bagdad, since the beginning of the season we have showed good chemistry, even if we haven’t played together for a long time. It’s a positive start between us and I am confident that this will continue over the season.”
Whilst Hamroun also was clear on the objectives of Al Sadd this term. “For Al Sadd we are aiming for the QSL title this season, we have a strong group of players with quality all over the pitch. We are not hiding that the league title is our aim.”
Talk turned to the Sunday evening clash against Lekhwiya, and Hamroun was clear this was a big match in the season for his side. “The match against Lekhwiya will be a turning point in the season for Al Sadd. If we can manage the game well we have the potential and quality to win this game clearly.”
“If we win it can give a message to all the league, that Al Sadd is fighting for the title.  We will prepare hard for this match, and hopefully will be a good result for us.” Hamroun claimed on his desire to get a positive result against The Red Knights.
Hamroun concluded the interview suggesting that the clash against Lekhwiya will be an entertaining encounter. “I have seen Lekhiwya play twice so far, and they look like one of the strongest teams in the league along with us. That is why this match will be important. We have the quality to beat them. Al Sadd has to manage the game to get the win, but that is why it will be so interesting to watch.”
