Diack resigns as IOC honorary member

Lausanne: Former world athletics supremo Lamine Diack has resigned as an honorary member of the International Olympic Committee, the IOC said.
The move came the day after Senegal's Diack was provisionally suspended by the IOC executive board.
Diack, who presided over the ruling athletics body IAAF between 1999 and August 2015, is under criminal investigation from French authorities in suspicion of corruption and money laundering. He allegedly took bribes to cover up positive and suspicious doping test results, dpa reported.
Diack was an IOC member since 1999 until he reached the IOC age limit of 80 in 2014. H was then made honorary member.
