Iran oil minister won't attend Doha freeze talks -Seda reporter

DUBAI: Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh will not attend an oil producers meeting in Doha next week but Iran will send a representative, a journalist from Iran's Seda weekly wrote on his Twitter account on Wednesday.

Russia, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and Qatar agreed in February to freeze production at January levels, but said at the time the deal was contingent on other main oil producers joining in.

Qatar has invited all OPEC members and major producers from outside the exporting group to attend talks on April 17 to cement that agreement.

Iran has rejected freezing its output at January levels, which OPEC secondary sources have estimated to be 2.93 million barrels per day, and wants to return to much higher pre-sanctions production levels.
