Ooredoo praises National Para-Athletics Team

Ooredoo congratulated the Qatari National Para-Athletics Team for their achievements at the recent World Para-Athletics Championships in London.
A host of team members from the event, as well as players from the Paralympic Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, and winners of the Special Olympics World Winter Games in March 2017, attended the event which was hosted at Ooredoo’s HQ1.
Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Thani, Ooredoo’s Chairman, hosted the event, alongside senior management from Ooredoo.
Athletes attending the event included Abdulrahman Abdulqader, who won a gold medal in the Men’s Shot Put event, and Sarah Masoud, who claimed the silver medal in the Women’s Shot Put during the London championships.
Talking about the occasion, the Chairman, said: “Qatar’s Para-Athletics Team winning two medals at such an important event is a huge step for our country and a testament of the dedication and talent our sportsmen and women have. Ooredoo is delighted to welcome the team here today, to not only congratulate them on their success but highlight the importance of sport for Qatar’s younger generations.”
Ooredoo has a long history of supporting sports in Qatar and is the official ‘National Partner’ of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC).
