‘Kids go free’ at prestigious Qatar Masters
Qatar National Junior Team players celebrate the news that kids under 14 enter the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters for free.

Doha: The 2016 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters will welcome families for a festival of golf and entertainment, with children under the age of 14 permitted to enter the event for free when accompanied by an adult.
The European Tour golf tournament, which will take place at the Doha Golf Club from January 27 to 30, will feature the world’s leading golfers on the course and a range of entertainment for all the family in the popular Public Village, Family Zone and luxury shopping boulevard.
The tournament’s largest interactive spectator area to date, the Public Village, will provide a huge range of entertainment and fun activities for children and families.
The Family Zone on the lawn beside the clubhouse will allow youngsters to try out a range of sports including mini and soft golf with their friends and family, alongside gourmet food offerings.
The Family Zone also features exclusive school workshops with the Doha Golf Club Academy, aimed at providing young beginners an enjoyable introduction to the sport.
“The beauty of golf is that it’s one of the few sports that children can play and enjoy with their parents,” said Andy McCormick, Director of Qatar Golf Academy.
“The world’s leading professionals are a great inspiration to young fans and the wide range of off-course entertainment at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters will complement that to provide a great day out for children and their families,” added Andy.
“Our classes are offered to children as young as five years old and include fun, golf based activities with emphasis on healthy social interaction,” explains Andy.
“Commercial Bank Qatar Masters provides children with a great platform to get introduced to golf in a fun social setting. I would strongly encourage families to bring their children along to the tournament where we will have a wide arrange of interactive golf challenges that appeal to all ages.” The tournament is organised by the Qatar Golf Association (QGA), the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), Doha Golf Club and long-term title sponsor, Commercial Bank.
