Cabinet praises Emir’s speech at UN General Assembly

Praising the speech of the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the opening session of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, the Cabinet yesterday stressed the continued efforts of the State to address this unjust siege.
Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani chaired the Cabinet’s regular weekly meeting yesterday at the Emiri Diwan.
Following the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud stated: “At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet praised the speech of H H the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, at the opening session of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly in
New York yesterday, which has received great attention and welcome at both regional and international levels.”
The Cabinet stressed the continued efforts of the State to address this unjust siege as well as to ensure that all means are available to preserve the dignity and interests of citizens and residents, and to support their steadfastness and determination to the independence of the sovereign will of the State of Qatar.
The Cabinet also expressed its deep pride in the wise leadership of H H the Emir, which embodies the hopes and aspirations of his loyal people and his historic position in facing the illegal siege.
Stressing support for His Highness’s wise policy and call to resolve differences through dialogue on basis of mutual respect for sovereignty, the Cabinet expressed high appreciation for the mediation efforts of HH Emir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and as well as all the countries that supported this mediation.
The Cabinet approved The cabinet approved Emiri Draft Decision on reorganizing Qatar’s Community College.
As well draft decision amending the organization of the administrative units of the Ministry of Transport and Communications and assigning its competences.
The Cabinet approved a draft decision of the Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs determining the probationary period for domestic workers and its rules of control and a draft decision of the Minister Municipality and Environment on the conditions and procedures for the use of pesticides and determining the percentage of residues allowed in agricultural products.

Agreements approved
The Cabinet also approved: Draft agreement on cooperation in the field of security and law enforcement between the Ministry of the Interior of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China.
Draft agreement on cooperation in the field of law between the Ministry of Justice of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Cuba.
Draft cooperation agreement between Qatar News Agency (QNA) and the Liberia News Agency (LINA) Draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of exchange of financial investigations related to combating money-laundering and the financing of terrorism between the Financial Information Unit of the State of Qatar and the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC) in Australia.
The Cabinet reviewed the report of National Qualifications Framework Committee and took the appropriate decision thereon.
