Qatar and Japan hold political consultations

Tokyo:  The third round of political consultations between the State of Qatar and Japan began yesterday in the Japanese capital, Tokyo. The Qatari side’s delegation was headed by Secretary-General of the Foreign Ministry H E Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi during his official visit to Japan.
The two sides reviewed means of enhancing and developing the friendship and partnership relations between the two countries. They also discussed bilateral issues, and ways to activate economic and investment ties and boost bilateral cooperation and coordination in all fields. In addition, they exchanged views on developments in the Middle East and North East of Asia.
The Secretary-General of the Foreign Ministry met Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Masahisa Sato. They discussed bilateral relations and ways of boosting them, as well as issues of common concern. Dr Al Hammadi also met Naoko Saiki, director general of the Foreign Service Training Institute of Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They exchanged views on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and coordination.
