Bedaya hosts meeting with national firms

The Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Center), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, recently met with representatives of national companies and institutions with an aim to bridge with youth and encourage to contribute towards the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Reem Al Suwaidi, General Manager of Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development, said, “Bedaya is a proud destination for all innovators and career seekers, as well as students who need an incentive to choose the right specialisation for them or to choose the profession that suits best their aspirations and ambitions. Our aims have always been to provide aspiring youths with the required skills, development tools, advisory services, events, workshops and meetings to help bridge the gap between them and the business world, and help them to be successful in their career.”
“Today’s meeting was in line with the directives of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, seeking qualifying nationals to become permanent and sustainable entrepreneurs. We are confident that this meeting will play a crucial role in enhancing our national economy and to meet the needs of the SME sector,” she added.
Bedaya Center showcased the achievements of the Entrepreneurship Department during the first half of this year, led by a distinguished team of trainers and certified mentors.
In first half of 2017, Bedaya Center hosted a total of 70 workshops in various fields that saw the participation of more than 2,500 participants. The Center provided more than 144 hours of consultation to entrepreneurs who are constantly seeking to reach their goals that will support the economy of Qatar. In addition, the Entrepreneurship Department reviewed the bazaars established by the Center during that period that was attended by more than 150 small and medium-sized companies.
The meeting also discussed the planned programmes of Bedaya Center for the second half of 2017. This includes workshops on   basics of Entrepreneurship, as well as specialised workshops related to business field.
The meeting also highlighted several other activities including the ‘Dukan Bedaya’ project which includes a number of unique local projects, which were established by a group of creative and aspiring Qatari youth, to present the products of their projects in an innovative and different way to attract the public and to define the nature of their work. All departments at the Bedaya Center also highlighted their achievements and future programmes.
