Doha: Star striker Hasan Al Haydos struck twice as Qatar defeated Thailand 3-0 in a friendly match on Thursday at Al Sadd Club’s Jassim bin Hamad Stadium as the two teams prepare for the final stage of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Hassan Al Haidos scored on the 8th minute from the spot before adding another on the 77th minute, while Rodrigo Tabata scored on the 62nd minute.
Al Haydos opened Qatar’s account from the penalty spot to give them the lead and the scoreline remained unchanged until the 62nd minute, when Brazilian-born midfielder Rodrigo Tabata doubled his side’s advantage.
Fifteen minutes later, Al Haydos was on hand again, scoring his second of the night to help Qatar to a resounding 3-0 victory.
The game was the Maroon’s last in the preparations as they take on Al Sadd in a last warm-up before travelling to Iran for the first game of the final stage of the qualifiers on September 1. Thailand were hoping to build some confidence ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Saudi Arabia taking place next week.
