Katara launches Tunisian Cultural Week with exhibition of 40 paintings

The Cultural Village Foundation — Katara launched the Tunisian Cutural Week on Monday with an exhibition of 40 paintings by 20 Tunisian artists.
The opening was attended by Saif Al Dosari, Director of Human Resources Department on behalf of Dr Khalid Bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, Katara General Manager, and Rashid Saidani, Deputy Ambassador of Tunisia in Doha and a large audience of artists.
The four-day cultural event will reflect the Tunisian cultural diversity with an elite group of Tunisian artists, creators and critics.
The exhibition also includes a collection of sculptures. The event also features series of cultural symposia, in which an eminent group of Tunisian critics and innovators will participate.
Dr Nadia Abdel Rahman Al Madhahka and Dr Abdel Qader Al Qahtani will preside over a lecture entitled “After the City” and “The City of Kairouan and Architecture in the City of Kairouan” to be followed by other symposia “The Concept of the City, Between Space and Historical Place viewed by the artist Paul Clay,”The Tunisian City”.
In the same context, Katara Art Studios will host workshops entitled “The Pulse of theCity “, with the participation of four artists (Burhan Bin Arayebieh, Kamal Alkasho, Salwa Al Aidi, Khalid Al Faki).
Mohamed Ben Hamouda, Director of the Higher Institute of Arts and Crafts in Sfax, expressed hope that the launch of the Tunisian Cultural Week in Katara will deepen the concept of cultural and intellectual communication by presenting a series of outstanding events that reflect the diversity and richness of Tunisian culture.
