Students of the 11th graduating class of Awsaj Academy celebrate by throwing their graduation caps in the air.

Qatar Foundation’s (QF) Awsaj Academy has celebrated another milestone by honouring its 11th graduating class at an official ceremony.
The ceremony, which took place in the Awsaj Academy auditorium, was attended by a number of distinguished guests, including Fahad Al Subaiey, Chairman of Awsaj Academy Board of Governors; Hanadi Mansoor Al Khater, Director of Special Education, Gifted Student Department, Office of the Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs; Buthaina Ali Al Nuaimi, President of Pre-University Education (PUE), Qatar Foundation. The event was also attended by parents, staff, and faculty members.
Commenting on the Awsaj Academy Class of 2017 graduation ceremony, Buthaina Ali Al Nuaimi said: “Today, we are delighted to celebrate the graduation of the 11th Class of Awsaj Academy students. With determination, risk-taking based on scientific awareness, and a well-designed vision, our students are now ready to embark on a new journey.”
“Pre-University Education strives to provide high-quality education programmes that further our students’ education and helps their development, so that they can be outstanding citizens in their community, capable of building the future of their country,” she added.
In his speech, Dr Donald Francis, Director of Awsaj Academy, highlighted the important role the staff and families played to get students to this successful stage of their lives: “I am incredibly grateful for the Awsaj Academy family: parents, siblings, tutors, teachers, and staff; an excellent team that has put in countless hours and unquantifiable energy into the success of each of these graduates. We are truly a family here at Awsaj Academy as we fulfill our unique mission to unlock the learning potential of each student.”
Ali Al Shaabi, Senior Curriculum Coordinator, Pre-University Education, and the keynote speaker, encouraged the graduates to stay focused and committed, saying: “Development and achievements do not come without endless planning, eagerness, and sacrifice. The best approach to succeed in life is through knowledge of yourself, identifying your strengths and weaknesses, and the discovery of your potential capabilities so as to employ them to achieve your goals.”
Addressing his fellow graduates, Jassim Abdulrahman Al Thani said: “No matter where we go or what we do, there will be challenges to face. What I'm asking from each of you, and from myself, is to meet those challenges straight on with your heart wide open. Try to excel in everything you do; strive for excellence in every task, large or small.”
The diplomas were awarded by Fahad Al Subaiey, Dr Donald Francis, and Frank Esposito, Secondary School Principal, Awsaj Academy.
