DOHA: A new update has been made to Ooredoo App to allow any Hala or Shahry user in Qatar to access the service.
Previously, customers with a smartphone would have to register to use the service, and only the QID holder could take advantage of self-services via the app.
Now, everyone in Qatar with a Hala or Shahry number can log into the app to see their balance or allowance, top up accounts or subscribe to add-ons. All Hala purchases will be deducted from the user’s credit immediately, and Shahry customers will have the amount added to their monthly bills. Customers can access their accounts by clicking ‘My Number’ tab on the app’s home screen, enter their mobile number and the verification code that will be sent via SMS.
For business customers, the new feature will enable employees to access accounts quickly and easily. All Hala Business number holders will be able to see their balance, and subscribe to add-ons up to the value of their Hala credit balance. Shahry business account holders will be able to see their remaining balance and can request subscriptions to services such as monthly data packs via their Account Manager.
The new feature aims to ensure every Ooredoo customer with an iOS or Android phone can enjoy benefits of the app.
App users logged in via ‘My Number’ tab can also take advantage of the new passport companion feature which enables customers to instantly see their remaining Passport balance, standard roaming rates for calling and messaging in the country they are visiting and the networks compatible with the Ooredoo Passport.
