19 Killed after Bus Plunges into River in Nepal

Kathmandu: At least 19 people were killed when a passenger bus slipped off a highway and plunged into a river in Dhading District of Central Nepal on Saturday morning, officials said.
District police Superintendent Dhruba Raj Raut said in a statement that, at least 19 persons including seven women and 4 children died, and 16 others were injured after the bus skidded off the road and plunged into Trishuli River of Dhading district, west of the capital Kathmandu, on Saturday morning, the Himalayan English daily reported.
Nepal Army and Armed Police Force with the help of locals, jointly rescued 16 injured passengers who were fallen into the river. The rescue teams have pulled out 19 dead bodies until now while the search is on for other missing passengers, police said.
