Qimam Club holds summer activities in Qatar and Malaysia Tuesday, 03 August 2010 04:12
Qimam Club, an affiliate of Qatar Charity, has launched its Summer programme last week, promising activities in both Qatar and Malaysia.
Some participants in the programme, called ‘Leaders’ have already travelled to Malaysia where they will start the second leg of the activity for young people.
This part of the programme includes training for 50 young people in the art of leadership.
“This is a groundbreaking programme,” said Husain Al Himiari, the director of the club.
“It aims to prepare youth to be leaders by motivating them to get more training,” he added.
He noted that the first part of the programme was implemented in Qatar between July 13 and 23.
He said participants in the programme had received intensive training during that period.
He added that the programme aimed to train 50 Qataris in the theoretical and practical skills of modern leadership during summer.
“We aim to train participants in the different skills of modern leadership,” he said. “Important topics, such as the culture of voluntarism and sound moral sense will be included in the programme,” he added.
Al-Himiari said participants had spent the last five days at the Royal Apartments with the aim of sharing experiences and ideas related to what he called building their “collective spirit”.
He added that a specialised group of trainers in the field of human development had taken part in the programme, including the director of Al-Ayoub International Institute for National Training in Kuwait, Ayoub Al Ayoub, trainer Yousuf Sa’adah, Abdullah Al Harami, trainer Husain Al Sayid, Husain Al Himiari, director of the club, and a number of organisers and supervisors.
Al Ayoub delivered two lectures on the first two days of the programme, including one on the characteristics of leading personalities and ideal behaviour.
The second lecture was relatted to teamwork and the types of characters.
He explained the elements that make up the mission of a team and team management.
Qimam Club, established in 2004 as an affiliate of Qatar Charity, is a social developmental project aiming at producing mass cultural and social activities and student services in and outside Qatar.
