Laid off schoolteachers call on SEC to intervene Tuesday, 03 August 2010 04:14
Several female teachers complained last week against being laid off in their schools, threatening to go on the offensive if they were not given jobs during the next academic year.
The teachers said they were told to leave on the last day of the previous academic year without the being given convincing reasons.
They added that they worked in their schools according to a plan by the Supreme Council of Education to implement a policy of human development in these schools.
“We were surprised to have bee laid off without warning,” the teachers said. “We don’t know where to go,” they added. They called on the Supreme Education Council to intervene to end their problem.
