‘Technology helping students with learning problems’ Tuesday, 03 August 2010 04:14
The Director of Doha International Centre for Special Needs, Hala Al Said, highlighted last week the importance of modern educational strategies to help students with learning difficulties to achieve adjustment and development in their educational lives.
Al Said noted that statistical studies in several countries had pointed to an increase in the number of students with learning difficulties.
She said they ranged between 7 and 8 percent in some stages, reaching 12 percent in others. “But there are variations according to sex. But educational difficulties among males are bigger,” she added. She expected the rate of learning difficulties in males to be four times that of females in the future.
Al Said underlined the importance of e-learning for the treatment of students with learning difficulties. She referred to strategies for improving parent-teacher relationships for the benefit of children with educational difficulties.
