The blessing and the curse Friday, 08 October 2010 06:02

Dr Ramzy Al Saeed

People are the base of the society and pillar for its social development. When a mature society wants to rises a man according to the Islamic law and good moralities, it guides him to be close to God by performing good deeds and keeping himself away from sins.

This kind of man becomes useful for himself as well as for the society. And he works as an active element for the society.

The methods of virtuous education reflect on the family and builds right base for noble morality. Only a true believer can bring the true happiness and blessings for the family.

Almighty God made this world as a harvest for the world hereafter. The luckiness and unluckiness will be judged on the Day of Judgment on the basis of their faith in God and good deeds in the present life.

A companion of the prophet (Peace be upon him) Abdullah Bin Abbas said that good deeds enlighten the face and heart of human being, increase the livelihood, strengthen him physically and create love in the hearts of people for him.

The sin turns the face of human being black, brings darkness in his heart, weakens him physically, decreases the livelihood and creates hate in the heart of people for him.

So follow the right path of Islam, lead the life as a pious believer, repent to God and start a new life as a newly born baby innocent and free of ill-desires. Do not be like those people who lean on the mercy, kindness and forgiveness of God resulting in they started ignoring the orders of God.

They forget the punishment of God Who does not forgive the criminals. Whoever keeps doing sins leaning on His pardon is disobedient.

We should regret over the sins that we committed and seek  pardon of God day and night before it became too late. Especially, wake up at night and supplicate God’s forgiveness.

Be aware that the ecstasy of this temporary life let not derail us from the right path. If we keep commit sins and forget to repent, beware of this verse from the Holy Quran:

“And be ye not like those who forgot God; and He made them forget their own souls! Such are the rebellious transgressors” (Holy Quran, Chapter Al Hashar Verse 19)

A Muslim should resort to his Lord who spreads His hand at night to forgive those people who did sins during day and spreads His hand at day time to pardon those who committed mistakes during night.

He should know that God will forgive all types of the sins except Polytheism.

Remember that good deeds remove the bad one. Be optimistic, God will forgive you but keep seeking His pardon and doing good deeds.

Sins are harmful for heart and body. The side effect of the sin is that it snatches the blessing from life.

People who disobey God have been deprived from the blessing of age and livelihood. The blessing is lifted from the earth due to sins of the creatures.

Livelihood and work are not gauged by number but measured by blessing. It is not important that how many years and months you lived but the most important is how many times you lived peacefully.

Sins weaken the hearts will and resolve so that the desire for disobedience becomes strong and the desire to repent becomes weak bit by bit until the desire to repent is removed from the heart completely.

Sins are the cause of Allah forgetting His servant. May Allah have mercy upon us and help us to abandon the sins that are thecauses of our problems. Ameen.
