QNA Kids celebrates National Day Monday, 19 December 2011 14:32

DOHA: Children's website QNA Kids, affiliated to Qatar News Agency (QNA), participated in Qatar's National Day celebrations which took place throughout the country yesterday, December 18th.

The celebrations were held in the Qatar Exhibition Center which hosted the Doha International Book Fair. There was a large turnout of children which visited the fair.

The website's cartoon characters Fahed and Mariam shared the celebrations with the visiting children by handing out Qatar's flags. The two characters also announced a competition which will have valuable prices handed out to 20 winners. In addition to souvenirs that were handed out by QNA Kids.

The site's booth in the book fair also held a number of events for the visiting children, including drawing, coloring and handicraft.

The website aims to increase the sense of loyalty of children to their dear homeland, Qatar , through celebrating the national day. QNA Kids also aims to increase the children's knowledge of Qatar, as well as helping them realize the national values at an early age. To achieve this the site held a national day competition for the children attending. (QNA)
