RAMALLAH: Israeli forces have arrested a Palestinian in Al-Khalil south of the West Bank, accusing him of an attempt to stab an Israeli soldier at a military checkpoint.

The Palestinian detainee has been referred to investigation at a security center, Israel Radio reported on Sunday.

Israeli armed settlers have attacked the al-Nabi Salih village at northwest Ramallah in an incursion aimed at destroying a central mosque.

Attackers were confronted by tens of Palestinian youths who hurried in rescue of the mosque throwing stones at the settlers, which left at least one settler injured before they escaped, eyewitnesses said.  (QNA)
