Foreigners entering Qatar through hotels Thursday, 24 February 2011 01:20
Foreigners cannot enter the state of Qatar without passports, identification documents, or visas from the authorities concerned. A visa has to include the purpose of the visit.
Foreigners have to enter and exit the country through official crossings defined by the Minister of Interior. Passports and travel documents have to be stamped on both entry and exit.
According to Law No. 4/2009, which regulates foreigners’ entry, exit, residence, and sponsorship, hotel managers have to submit full information about the people they bring into Qatar to the authorities concerned.
Foreigners who absent themselves from hotels for more than 48 hours without a notice to hotel staff have to be reported to the authorities concerned within the following 24 hours.
Hotels are the sponsors of the people they bring in. They have to send the authorities concerned the names and the addresses of the people they bring in within 24 hours from arrival.
