Licence for websites which engage in trade Thursday, 17 March 2011 01:30
The Ministry of Business and Commerce takes necessary legal action against websites which engage in trade and sales through the internet without licences and commercial registration, as this activity has been regulated and codified under the Electronic Business and Transactions Law (16) for the year 2010. The efforts to supervise and follow up the websites came through the application of the mechanism to protect consumers and grant the licence to those who are interested in electronic business even though they don’t have sites or shops but can carry out their activities from any location provided they get a licence and register that at the Ministry to prevent excesses and fraud or irregularities that would offend others or lead to the occurrence of deception of the consumers.
The Ministry of Business and Trade has granted licences for those wishing to open e-sites and identified the sites that are involved in trade.
