Hotels line up a rich fair of Iftar and Suhoor meals

DOHA: As the whole country immerses into a mood calm and reflection this holy month of Ramadan, hotels here have lined up their slew of events and activities for their guests.With the start of Ramadan today chefs are busy preparing meals for Iftar and Suhoor to offer diners the best cuisine for the holy month.



Ritz-Carlton Doha

Lavish Iftar and Suhoor meals offering over 45 different authentic cuisines of the region await diners at the traditional Ramadan tent in the hotel’s majestic Al Wosail Ballroom.  Mezzeh, Shawarma, Ouzi, Falafel, Shrimps Harra, Chicken Mograbia, Seafood Tajein are among the sought-after dishes available at the tent complemented by international favourites such as Lamb navarin, Tandoori Murgh Tikka and Nasi Goring among others. Varied Ramadan juices and a selection of mouth-watering desserts are also available. A dedicated shisha butler prepares unlimited variety of sweet shisha aromas to fill the air at the magnificently designed ballroom.



Four Seasons Hotel

The hotel’s Al Mirqab Ballroom brings a taste of Morocco to its customers from design to live music to its lavish buffet fit for spending Ramadan evenings with family and friends.

Guests will be able to enjoy the lilting tunes of a live four-piece traditional Moroccan band as they savour an extensive buffet for both Iftar and Sohour. Featured favourites include a soup and salad table with Moroccan-Harira soup, zaalouk eggplant salad and more. A special selection of tagines and Moroccan-inspired mains such as baked hammour fillet with spicy coriander charmula, roast lamb legs with caramelized prunes and sesame seeds and Morrocan Meshwi.



InterContinental

Guests can break their fast at the highest point in Doha – Strata at InterContinental Doha The City – on the 55th and 56th floors of the West Bay skyscraper. Offering a more contemporary take on Iftar, including both Arabic and international flavours, Strata provides guests with panoramic views of the city at sunset. The Square will provide a bountiful Iftar buffet, with traditional food from the region as well as Asian influences and a range of healthy choices.  To mark the hotel’s first Ramadan since opening, the Criollo chocolatier will create bespoke, handmade chocolates, including dark chocolate options and delicacies made with cumin and other compelling flavours.



Holiday Villa

Customers are in for a surprise with an amazing Iftar and Sohour at Holiday Villa as D’ Chopstix and Lagenda prepares cuisine deep set in tradition and precision. Generous Iftar and Suhour buffets await diners at Lagenda with a well thought selection fit for an Arabic feast or an Oriental wedding. For a local taste the special Auzi Rice and Malaysian Grilled Beef with Spicy Tamarind are among the variety of dishes. Ala carte menu with selections of European and Asian options are set to gratify customers’ discerning palates. D’ Chopstix Japanese and Chinese Restaurant provides classic Cantonese flavour with the Clay Pot Szechuan Spicy Beef or the Sizzling Duck.



Mercure Grand Hotel

La Brasserie Restaurant at the hotel’s lobby serves Iftar and Suhour daily with a buffet comprising Cold Mezze, Oriental Sweets like Basbousa, Kataif, Kounafa Umm Ali and Mouhalabia and Arabic dishes such as Ouzi, Makbous and Tajin and a wide variety of juices. A 25 percent discount is offered for full cake ordered at the hotel’s pastry corner.

The Sultan’s tent, at the W Doha’s Great Room, will welcome guests in an amazing modern Ottoman inspired design ‘fit for a sultan’ and a traditional Souk located from the mezzanine area to the entrance of the tent.
