According to close family sources, Pan was to report for duty on a flight to Dammam. She had parked her car next to a shopping complex on Airport Road and was crossing the road when she was hit by a speeding vehicle. The motorist did not stop. The accident happened at around 6.30am.
She was rushed to the emergency unit of Hamad Hospital, where she was put on a life support system. However, she succumbed to her injuries at 2.45pm.
Family sources said Pan had been working with Qatar Airways for almost four years and had got married recently. Her parents are expected to arrive here today.
“It was an unfortunate incident; we all are saddened by the tragedy. It was a shock for her colleagues and our sympathies go to her family,” a Qatar Airways spokesperson told The Peninsula.
