A stunning blend of traditional, modern and glamorous collections was showcased at the twelfth annual fashion show of the Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar. This blend of collection under the theme ‘Portfolio’ brought together the work of eleven local designers with South African guest designer Bongiwe Walaza.

The ‘Portfolio’ collections showcased fashions designed on inspired by desert nomads, treasure boxes, abstract art, theatrical designs for suspenders, Turkish kilims, a circus, Her Highness’ wardrobe, the sea, seasons and imperfection.

Walaza’s collection was a fusion, Africa inspired with a global appeal. Her collections inspired by her childhood experiences of Africa, a diverse cultural country with different traditions.

The Sophomore Collection, ‘Small Wonders’ were an attraction assorted mix of self-expression in children’s wear showcased by little models.
