25 year old becomes youngest appointed general manager in the region Dubai Friday, 24 December 2010 16:25

The business information company, naseba, just proved that achievement overcomes age – when given the opportunity to succeed – with the official appointment of Robin Titus, now 25, as general manager (GM) of naseba’s Africa and Middle East operations.

Having joined naseba at only 19 years of age, his past six years of hard work have seen Titus rise from the very bottom of the ranks at naseba to successively become its top sales consultant, sales director, and now general manager.

The announcement was made official recently, during a company gathering in Dubai.

Scott Ragsdale, chairman of naseba, commented the following on the corporate revamp: “Robin has for the past 2 years, been working closely with our production and marketing teams – at the same time driving sales for his division. Although he will have the support of the senior management, he is the one who is responsible for developing, expanding, and managing our Middle East and Africa business. Robin has something no MBA can teach – he is driven.”

After joining naseba’s Dubai office in 2005, Robin’s first promotion came within his initial twelve months.

A number of key positions in the company’s sales department followed in Europe, after which he headed the operations of Cape Town office.

In 2008 he was back in the UAE where he contributed to the development of naseba’s series on transport and logistics as well as leadership.

Commenting on his promotion Robin Titus said: “I feel more than excited about this step forward. The global financial crisis brought doom and gloom upon all levels of the business world, freezing the smooth movements of the markets, deal-flows and consequently raising a liquidity problem for investors and lenders altogether. We’re now in the last quarter of 2010 and our profits look healthy and positive with a projected 40 percent growth in net revenue. There is also a wave of positivity returning in the MENA region which puts things in an even brighter perspective for 2011.”

Previously a sales director, Robin leaves the door open for other young employees to follow his footsteps.

Commenting on his new role he stated: “My new role will entail an even bigger focus on enhancing client relations as well as aligning all aspects of product development. In terms of geographical expansion we’ll focus on going even further in Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Libya and Bahrain. The following years will find us expanding from within, providing more opportunities for young, capable and competitive people, who have proved themselves throughout our corporate structures. That’s the only way we will ensure our success story continues further.”
