THE NEW RENAULT MEGANE HATCH: Pleasure and Appeal Monday, 27 December 2010 23:15

The newest addition to the Renault GCC lineup has arrived, with the new Renault Megane Hatch arriving in showrooms across the region.
From the original concept shown at the 2008 Geneva Motorshow, the new Renault Megane Hatch has been developed into the latest Renault vehicle to hit the roads, coming in as the manufacturer’s new C-segment car after the Fluence.
Renault GCC Managing Director, Mustansir Lakdawala, said: “The new Renault Megane Hatch is a great looking and high performing addition to the line up. The concept debuted at the Geneva Motorshow in 2008, and the end product is a superbly well rounded car, offering customers new levels of stylish comfort.
“With the new Megane Hatch we are delivering yet more best in class performance in areas of comfort, with the 70 mm of height adjustment in the front seats being a segment leader. This type of detail helps passengers of Renault vehicles really enjoy the experience of driving or being driven. The Renault baseline is ‘Drive the Change’, and by having this type of innovation in our vehicles we are bringing new levels of comfort to consumers.”
The stylish new hatchback is sporty in appearance, having taken its design cues from the world of sport and in celebration of all things automobile. This has led to a vehicle that is immediately eye-catching; the new Megane Hatch is a very appealing car, and one where its character and soul matches its looks.
This character is one that exudes comfort and passenger experience, something that Renault instills in all its vehicles. Attention to detail, like widely adjustable seats, repositioned pedals for ease of use, best in class elbow room, easier to read dials and a raft of equipment from the next segment up, including keyless entry and ignition; all help to enhance both driver and passenger experience and truly make the new Renault Megane Hatch an inviting place to be.
No detail has been overlooked in the search for a fantastic handling car, and the result is the new Renault Megane Hatch performs with exemplary road holding and precise driver input thanks to the all new power steering.
The new Renault Megane Hatch is powered by a choice of three engines and three transmissions, catering to every driver’s need. With a choice of a 1.6 16V 110hp with a 5-speed manual gearbox, a 1.5 16V 105hp featuring a 4-speed automatic gearbox, and a 2.0 16V 143hp with Renault-Nissan Alliance developed CVT gearbox, all tastes and requirements are covered.
Renault has naturally profited from its engineering expertise and from the latest research carried out by LAB (the Accident Analysis, Biomechanics and Human Behaviour Laboratory of PSA Peugeot-Citroën and Renault) to develop a comprehensive range of safety equipment designed to perform in real-life driving situations. The new Megane Hatch benefits from Renault’s knowledge in the realm of active and passive safety and has been designed for exemplary performance on both fronts. The result is a host of active and passive safety features, including include ABS, EBD and Emergency Brake Assist. Depending on the version, ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and CSV understeer control are also available to assist the driver in difficult or emergency situations.
The new Renault Megane Hatch is available in GCC showrooms since November.
