A gateway to opportunities, says IFP Qatar Wednesday, 04 May 2011 04:57

Qatar is fast becoming a preferred investment destination. Having been awarded FIFA 2022 World Cup hosting rights, international and national business players are keen to tap into the wealth of opportunities that arise out of the numerous projects lined up for the next 12 years.

With Qatar’s economy projected to grow at a strong 18.6 percent in 2011 as stated by the International Monetary Fund (IMF),  Project Qatar 2011, the leading International Trade Exhibition for Construction Technology, Building Materials, Equipment and Environmental Technology, is a gateway to numerous opportunities in one of the world’s fastest growing economies, which has planned over $100bn of direct investments toward infrastructure projects in the coming 12 years. More than 1,700 exhibitors from 47 countries are participating in the event.

“Qatar’s economy, with its strong foundations, has shown a strong and steady growth in the past. The country offers numerous opportunities to businesses in almost all sectors. In line with its National Vision 2030 and also the World Cup, Qatar will witness investments to the tune of billions of dollars for a large number of upcoming infrastructural projects. Project Qatar 2011 is a strong opportunity and a strategic entry point for those keen on tapping into this flourishing economy,” said George Ayache, General Manager, IFP Qatar Ltd, the organisers for Project Qatar 2011.

The exhibition gives its visitors and exhibitors a chance to gain access to local market dynamics, investors, and niche providers that enhance product offerings, benefit from a unique opportunity to come face-to-face with local market players in both the private and public spheres, acquire an in-depth knowledge of planned and current construction projects being carried out in the country while, at the same time, network with the country’s top construction companies and decision makers and generate new business deals.

The event will also be attended by high-ranking Qatari public sector officials who will be able to offer high-power introductions to all the right people and explain the myriad benefits foreign investors enjoy when doing business in Qatar.

Project Qatar has emerged as an unequaled platform in the last seven years and has helped participants capitalise on the countless construction opportunities in the country, by providing them with an exhaustive lineup of the latest innovations and technologies.

Project Qatar 2010 was a highly successful event that saw more than 30,000 visitors including manufacturers, engineers, project managers, consultants, traders, industrialists and government officials, who networked, learnt and exchanged knowledge and information about the construction sector, materials and services. Last year, the exhibition involved participation from over 1,000 exhibitors, including 812 international exhibitors, representing 39 countries and was spread in an area of 40,000sqm.
