HBK Holding: Gaining international exposure Wednesday, 04 May 2011 06:00

HBK Holding, one of the sponsors at the ongoing Project Qatar 2011, is keen in gaining international exposure being one of the oldest 100 percent Qatari-owned companies here.

“We have been participating in Project Qatar from the very start but this is the first time we are participating as a sponsor. As Project Qatar is now the biggest exhibition here in the country, this gives us a lot of international exposure in the global market,” said R. Vedhachalam, Technical Manager.

HBK has a great advantage in terms of technology over other companies especialising in the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) field, according to Vedhachalam.

“We are now promoting our company in the international market. This year many countries are represented in Project Qatar, so we took an additional responsibility as sponsor as 100 percent Qatari company so we can participate with them in their future development.”

Having celebrated 40 years, HBK has been playing a great role in the development of the country in many fields such as civil engineering, construction, electro-mechanical, aluminium and glazing, fabrication, contracting and trading.

HBK has actively played big role in the building and construction of some of the most prominent buildings, hospitals, roads and pipelines in the government sector like Ashghal, Kahramaa, Qatar Foundation, Qatar Olym, pic Committee, Minstry of Interior and Armed Forces Work Engineering Unit in addition to private sector projects.

With over10,000 employees and a wide portfolio, HBK has a very good market share in the construction industry, according to Vehachalam and they hope to contribute in a big way to the future development of Qatar as it prepares for World Cup 2022 and in realizing its vision.
