DOHA: Rayyan Qapex were crowned champions of the fourth Qatar National Hockey League. In an exciting and high quality encounter played at the Rayyan grounds, the newly crowned champions dethroned three-time champions Wanderers Hockey Club 2-0. Rizwan and Zakir scored the goals.

Earlier, it was third time lucky for Fowriya Gateway who beat the QHA Boys 3-2.

QHF President Hassan Al Qadi in the company of Easa Al Harami and Mohamed Al Enazi gave away the awards, while QHF Secretary General, Mohamed Abdul Nazer presided over the event.

Farhan of Rayyan was awarded the best forward, Rohit Charles the best midfielder, Sultan Ashraf the best defender and Sheraz Ali the most valuable player.  Special awards were given to Juned Coutinho, Zakirullah and Tariq Nasir in recognition of their contribution in raising the standards of the League this year. Solange Agnelli the Argentinean star of VDHC was given a memento by QHF for her contribution to hockey in Qatar. THE PENINSULA
