I will do everything I can in my position to convince the Greeks to choose to stay in the euro zone and everything to convince Europeans....Cool ride for the big cat Saturday, 17 July 2010 04:40

These young men give their pet cheetah a ride on their speedboat off the Corniche yesterday. The cheetah is an endangered and one of the most vulnerable feline species. Though protected by the Endangered Species Act, their numbers in the wild and in captivity are declining. Cheetahs suffer from a lack of genetic diversity in the wild and in captivity. They reproduce poorly and do not breed easily in captivity and have a much shorter average life span than many species. Obtaining permits to own or breed cheetahs is a difficult and expensive process, even for top zoos.

I think it's disgusting that a newspaper would encourage people to own wild animals - printing photos like this will just make people think it's "cool" to own one and will get one. And most of them don't have licenses anyway.
These beautiful and endangered animals should not be kept as trophy pets; the authorities should confiscate such animals and return them to sanctuaries where they can acclimatise to their natural habitat if possible.
