I will do everything I can in my position to convince the Greeks to choose to stay in the euro zone and everything to convince Europeans....Filipinos turn up at Indian mission Saturday, 24 July 2010 04:46
DOHA: In an unprecedented event yesterday, a few Filipino employees of a company turned up at Indian Embassy to lodge a complaint against an Indian managed company here. Though, they had come hearing about the monthly community grievances forum at the embassy, they left the place before seeing the embassy officials.
Some 17 Filipinos, working as electricians in the company that provides services to oil and gas sectors, were not provided residence permit or health cards by the company officials. Apparently, they were brought to Qatar on business visa some four to seven months ago under the notion that the visas would be transferred. They now work under accident prone conditions on various sites and have no official Qatari documents. Also, their passports are held by the company.
Added to this, their living condition is also bad with some 48 people sharing a four-bedroom villa. Though they had come to file a complaint against the Indian manager, they left even before the embassy officials could hear their grievances at the forum.
